Man who killed 2 teens in break-in: 'I fired more shots than I needed' | Nation & World | The Seattle Times

I came across this article earlier today.  I am supposed to feel bad for the two teens but I am not even going to try to be politically correct with this.  According to what I read in the story my heart goes out to the Minnesota homeowner.  There are actually two Facebook pages based on this story; one for the the two kids shot and one for the alleged shooter.   Like I said I feel more for the homeowner (Byron David Smith) because, 1)   he had no idea if the kids were armed or not, 2)  he had a right to protect himself and his home, 3)  even if the kids were not armed Smith is 64 years old compared to the teens and he was out-numbered.

On a cynacle note by following the story   just a little I found out that white people are just as ignorant as Blacks.  The two teens were white and a Facebook page was created in honor of their memory.  On that page people are outraged about the shooting.  One person wished the gunman would have fired a warning shot.  WTF?????

I remember stories in New York where Black kids with records as long as your arm would get shot and killed and there would be public outcry over it by people claiming the victim was a good kid.

In twenty years I will be 67.  This case means a lot to me because it will determine how I get to protect  myself as I get older.  My support goes to Mr. Smith.

Almost Election Day

Tomorrow is Election Day.  I already know I am voting for the current president.  I am concerned that he will lose.  I am also convinced that if Barack Obama was a white man he would have no problems getting re-elected.   I absolutely hate using the race card and there are a TON of whites who are completely ignoring race.  However, in my gut, I know race is playing a factor with some.  I cannot prove it scientifically but I can feel it in my  gut.  There is no reason for ANY senior to vote for Mitt Romney, especially after AARP came out and stated Romney would end Medicare the way it is now and introduce vouchers.  Anyone with a brain could see that the president had ideas he attempted to put into play, however the republican congress refused to even work with him.  Everything with them was focusing on keeping the George Bush tax cuts which help the wealthy.  The same tax cuts that helped the economy crash.  I can only hope minorities and women vote in full force.

11/5

This is my first post-Sandy blog.  New York City was really hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Not to the point where it was totally devastated but enough where you really think about how powerless people really are.  About 30 people lost their lives.  Lower Manhattan was without power for nearly a week. Subways were knocked out.  Stations were filled with water.  Through the grace of God my section of the Bronx was spared any serious damage.  My power never went out.  This is however the sixth day I have not been to work and I was already notified I would be out of work tomorrow (Tuesday) making it seven days.   Trust me, I am not complaining  about missing work.

New Writer's Block

I am going through a horrible writer’s block.  Can’t seem to collect my thoughts and put them on to paper.  Or better yet I cannot connect my thoughts to writing.
