Was listening to the tele yesterday morning while getting dressed for work and heard an interesting story involving American Airlines. Apparently they had maintenance issues with their planes serious enough to force them to cancel flights. The guy being interviewed on the news thought it might be sabotage. The thing that interested me was the part of the report where they mentioned pensions. American Airlines financial woes have been well played on the news. Most people have at least heard that they are in bankruptcy. I heard some of the details (I have not flown American Airlines in years and I have no intentions of ever doing so…another story for another day) . I know the court canceled some debts. I just heard they lowered employee pensions. I never knew they could just do that. That’s when a bell went off in my head. That’s another reason why government employees are hated. Granted it may sound paranoid but I think it is an effort to eliminate government jobs because they can’t cut back on the benefits because they have a strong Union (the Union being another reason for the hate). Seems like the occupy folks were right, our elected officials, or at least some of them are actively trying to make the rich richer and eliminate the middle class, or at least weaken them.
