These are some links to some information on alcoholism. It is intended for a friend in need but I thought it would be even more beneficial for people who happen along my blog.
Before my father passed away last year he spent years going to Alcohol Anonymous meetings. He had a drinking problem for years and throught the grace of God had his last drink of booze in 1984. Before that date he suffered a divorce and numerous hospitizations including a stay to remove his gall bladder and a bout of pancreatitus. One of his brothers lost his life to cancer and had a problem drinking. His other brother also drank heavily and died in an accident. I have some history.

This site is from about.com but I found the information practical and very helpful. Sometimes you don't need high tech stuff. You just need the basics.

Bottom line is in order to help a loved one you have to arm yourself with knowledge. If you are the person with the drinking problem those site could help you save your life and the sanity of your loved ones.
