#146 The Era of punish

Last week in Minnesota, a jury found former police officer Derek Caauvin guilty on all charges.  Chauvin is the officer responsible for the death of George Floyd by placing his knee on the back of Floyd's neck and back for over nine minutes.

In the hours after the verdict, I got into an argument on Facebook with a few people who feltChauvin didn't get a fair trial.  After a few minutes, I realized that there are people who felt Floyd deserved to die.    They wouldn't have been satisfied if he was just arrested.  He had to be punished for doing something wrong, and if he resisted arrest he deserved to die.

When did police officers become executioners?

#145 Another police altercation

A state trooper in Virginia just lost his job over a violent altercation with a black motorist.  I have the link below for the story and the video.  In the video, the motorist is taping the stop and is asking why the cop is forcing him out of the vehicle.  The state trooper also says on camera that he is going to whip the man's ass.

This is the second report I've seen from Virginia recently.
